A number of topics will be discussed, including an overview of the Quebec comic arts scene, how local media promotes comic arts, building awareness for Quebec artists and creators, a professional look at the comic book creation process, comic book publishing in Quebec and the historical value of local comic book. SCHEDULE 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Welcoming Address and Coffee 9:30 a.m. to noon Group A — Media Coverage for Comic Arts Current media practices, increasing awareness of comic arts within media, educating critics on how to properly review comic books, promoting local success stories, etc. Group B — Promoting Quebec Artists and Creators Building awareness locally and outside Quebec, key promotional events for comic books in Quebec, integration of comic books within general literary events, important prizes and awards for the Quebec comic book industry, etc. Group C — Overview of the Quebec Comic Arts Industry What constitutes a “Quebec Comic Book” and a “Quebec Comic Book Creator”?
