About Yves Martel
Born in 1976 in Alma, near lake Saint-Jean, Yves Martel holds a degree in cinema from the Université de Montréal, and works as a special effects technician. At the same time, he directed two documentaries about art, the first on animated film, L’épine mentale, and the second on painting, La Carfardeuse. In comics, he contributes to several magazines as a scriptwriter, exploring gags and reportage. Vinland, avant le nouveau monde, in collaboration with cartoonist Patrick Boutin-Gagné, is his first album.
