After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Montpellier, Émilie Plateau published fanzines in which she humorously transcribed scenes from everyday life. In the same sensitive, committed style, always armed with her notebook to “sketch” everyday scenes, she signed her first comic strips: Comme un plateau, 2012, De l'autre côté à Montréal, 2014 (6 pieds sous terre), Moi non plus, 2015 (Misma). In 2019, she adapts Tania Montaigne's book Noire, la vie méconnue de Claudette Colvin (Dargaud) into a comic strip. She continues with the publication by Misma of L'Épopée infernale, le livre dont vous êtes l'héroïne. In 2024, Vivian Maier Claire-Obscure, scripted by Marzena Sowa, was published by Dargaud. At the same time, Émilie Plateau creates numerous illustrations for the children's and adult press. In 2024, she created a huge mural for the Sparkoh Museum in Belgium, and co-created the Hyper BD exhibition at the Angoulême FIBD in 2025. In 2022, she was awarded the Atomium prize by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation for her body of work.
