About Sév

They say that during my mother’s ultrasound, the doctors spotted a long, narrow unidentified cylinder. The mystery was finally solved when I came out of the womb—with a pen in hand! Okay, maybe I’m stretching the truth a little, but the fact remains: I’ve been drawing and writing for as long as I can remember. I worked for 10 years in various media outlets, including the newsrooms of L’actualité, Le Devoir, and Radio-Canada radio, where I was assigned to cover the tsunami in South Asia. I eventually left journalism to focus on philanthropic marketing. Trained in comic art by Jimmy Beaulieu, I created I C U (I See You) in 2021, a short graphic novel telling the story of Li Wenliang, the Chinese COVID-19 whistleblower. The piece was selected to be part of a collection published by Slovak publishing house Royal Dirties. Tsunami – Les tribulations d’une reporter junior is my first major work.
