Jacques Goldstyn was born in Quebec in 1958. After a short career as a petroleum geologist in Alberta, he returned to his first love: drawing. For the past thirty years, he has brought to life Les petits débrouillards and Beppo, the mascot of Les Débrouillards magazine. He collaborates with many organizations of scientific popularization. He has written and illustrated several tales: Le petit tabarnak, l'arbragan (Prix des libraires du Québec 2015, and Prix Sorcière des libraires de France 2016) as well as Azadah (Governor General's Award 2017) Le Prisonnier sans frontières et les Étoiles (Prix TD 2020). He is consecrated artist of peace 2022. His father passed on his passion for books and ecology. He also taught him to climb trees. He signed political cartoons under the pseudonym of Boris in Relations, the Aut'journal, the Gazettes of Montreal and the Mauricie. Always passionate about geology, he continues to collect rocks and fossils. There are everywhere: in his office, in his living room, in his garden and sometimes in his shoe.
