Aurélie Grand grew up in the French Pyrenees and studied illustration and graphic design on Vancouver's North Shore. She likes to get under the skin of her characters, to feel the textures of pencil and ink, and also the spontaneity of improvised drawing: that's how her illustrations come to life. Since 2009, she has worked mainly for publishing and children's magazines. In 2023, she publishes her first self-published solo comic, Journal Américain 2.
