Luca Privitera was born in Rome, in the 70s, in an Italy filled with colours, flavours, music and hope. He grew up watching Italian neorealist films and New Wave films on a black and white television. He spent the hot summer afternoons of his childhood in an attic housing the books and comics from his father's collection, thus helping to shape his artistic imagination. As Luca relates: “if you were born and lived in Rome, art and antiquity run through your veins, even against your will." In his twenties, the author embraced a career as a woodwork restorer in a workshop in the center of Rome. A decade in restoration allowed him to explore Italian historical sites and antique pieces of astonishing beauty. In 2005, his passion for cinema and writing led him to tackle the adaptation of dialogues for the film and television industry. Such a career gave him the opportunity to translate and adapt the dialogues of dozens of films and cartoons. During all these years, he never stopped drawing, and during the pandemic, the need to tell stories about his origins and giving free rein to his imagination led him to Quebec – a path which also resulted in the creation of his first album!
