Born in Garoua in 1993, Frank Cidic Mboumi Kokmegne has a passion for animated films and comic strips. After attending the Fine Arts School in Foumban and obtaining a diploma in visual arts with a specialization in cartooning, he decided to embrace the world of cinema. In 2019, he works on the Zoukoulou project, in partnership with the Goethe Institute and IFCPA, as a character designer and concept artist. Over the next few years, he will sign the art direction of the 13-minute animated short Mboa Matanda. He will also work as a character designer and concept artist on the same project. In 2020, he opens up to new cinematic experiences on the Gabonese film Young is Last days as a background designer ; he also works as a concept artist and character designer in the animated sequence of the Congolese documentary film Les Révolutionnaires. 2021 was a decisive year in his career, as he made his first nine-minute animated short entitled La vie en prose. The film was selected for numerous festivals around the world, and won the Journées du Jeune Cinéaste (JJC) prize for best screenplay, as well as the jury's special animation mention at the 39th Vues d'Afrique International Film Festival in Canada. More recently, Frank Cidic Mboumi Kokmegne worked as background designer on the Cameroonian animated feature La grotte sacrée, selected at the Annecy Festival. In 2023, his comic book project Les sculptures de Sala was selected as part of the project Formation, mise en réseau des acteurs locaux et soutien à la diffusion de bandes dessinées en Afrique Centrale - a project run by Waandacomics, in partnership with the European Union and ACPUE.
