About Berna Labourdette
Santiago (1979). Social anthropologist and comic book writer. Having lived her childhood on Easter Island and after the culture shock of moving to live in a big city, she studied anthropology and wanted to tell stories that she is passionate about. She made the comic series on Easter Island history: Varua Rapa Nui (Spirits of Rapa Nui) in three volumes (she is working on the fourth and last one about the English archaeologist Katherine Routledge and the Rapa Nui priestess Maria Angata). She has presented her work in comic fairs in Chile, Argentina, San Diego Comic Con (2016), Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d'Angoulême (2017) and participate in the ARTE TV network documentary about Hugo Pratt on Easter Island: The Lost Land of Mu (2020).
