Very early on, Étienne Poisson's love for visual language and visual arts led him to become interested in comics and figurative painting. He therefore spent a few months in the art program at Cégep du Vieux Montréal before reorienting himself. After a five-year hiatus during which he obtained his university degree in environmental studies, he returned to drawing and painting. Inspired by three rich years in music, in the underground punk scene of Sherbrooke with his band Tinpeulâ, he finally produced a first comic book, Shotgun Lager, in collaboration with Steven Slab, singer of the group and storyteller. In 2021 he collaborates with Olivier Robin – researcher and professor at the University of Sherbrooke, author and passionate comic book lover – for the illustration and self-publishing of Tuer le Peintre. The following year, he participates in the Front Froid scholarship and mentoring project to develop a solo comic strip with the support of local artists. Today, Étienne lives in Montreal and carries out numerous illustration projects as a freelancer.
