Isao Moutte is a Franco-Japanese comic book artist born in Japan in 1983. He lives and works in Montreuil (France). A graduate of the Ecole Européenne Supérieure de l'Image d'Angoulême, he published his first comics with Editions Anathème: Armany Jeans, in 2009, then Hard Money in 2011. Then came Castagne in 2015, published by The Hoochie Coochie (shortlisted for the 2016 SNCF Polar Prize). In 2019, La trève, chérie is published by L'employé du moi, with a screenplay by Thomas Gosselin. After Clapas (Prix Polar'encontre 2022) published in 2021, Les évaporés (Sélection ACBD 2024) is his second comic strip published by Sarbacane; it comes out in September 2023.
