Luca Privitera was born in Rome in the 1970s, in an Italy filled with colour, aromas, music, and hope. He grew up watching Italian neorealist and New Wave films on a black-and-white television. He spent the hot summer afternoons of his childhood in an attic containing his father's book and comic book collection, helping to shape his artistic imagination. As Luca recounts, "If you were born and lived in Rome, art and antiquity circulate within you, even against your will." In his twenties, the author embarked on a career as a woodwork restorer in a workshop in central Rome. A decade of restoration allowed him to explore Italy's historic sites and ancient pieces of astonishing beauty. In 2005, his passion for cinema and writing led him to tackle adapting dialogue for the film and television industries. Such a career has given him the opportunity to translate and adapt dialogue from dozens of films and cartoons. Throughout all these years, he has never stopped drawing, and during the pandemic, the need to tell stories about his origins and give free rein to his imagination led him to Quebec, on a path that also resulted in the creation of this first album!
