Children’s Comics Are On The Rise

At this year’s Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulême, a delegation of some 20 creators and 11 publishing houses from Quebec was there to represent our province’s comic arts. The focus was on youth comics, with a dedicated space and activities presented in the Quartier Jeunesse, thanks to the support of SODEC and CALQ.

Do you Know the Bédélys Youth Award Jury?

The Bédélys Youth Québec Award rewards the best French-language comic book intended for young people aged 7 to 14 since 1999. The choices are based on the cumulative votes of several juries of young readers. The réseau des bibliothèques de la Ville de Montréal (City of Montreal library network) has sponsored the prize since 2000.
