Children’s Comics Are On The Rise

At this year’s Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulême, a delegation of some 20 creators and 11 publishing houses from Quebec was there to represent our province’s comic arts. The focus was on youth comics, with a dedicated space and activities presented in the Quartier Jeunesse, thanks to the support of SODEC and CALQ.

2024 Bédélys Independent Submissions Now Open

Independent and self-published comics occupy an important place in the Quebec comics ecosystem. MCAF is honored to promote it at the festival, and rewards the year’s best Quebec publications, in French and English, with the Bédélys awards. 

Each award comes with a $1,000 grant, an original trophy and a half-table at the following Festival.
